Real ingredients

This recipe uses eggs, cream and cream cheese - we love using as many real, nourishing ingredients as possible in our recipes; even in desserts.

Some of the benefits of using whole foods, such as whole eggs, in desserts like cheesecake:

  • Nutrient Density: Whole foods are typically more nutrient-dense than processed or refined foods. Using whole eggs in a cheesecake, for example, provides essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin B12, vitamin D, and selenium.
2. Satiety: Whole foods are often more filling than processed foods, which can help prevent overeating and snacking on less healthy foods. Including whole eggs in a cheesecake can add protein and healthy fats, which can promote feelings of fullness and satiety.

By using cream cheese, we're providing our body with:

  • Calcium: Cream cheese is a good source of calcium, a mineral essential for healthy bones and teeth. A 100-gram serving of cream cheese contains approximately 10% of the recommended daily intake of calcium.
  • Phosphorus: Cream cheese is also a source of phosphorus, a mineral important for bone health and the formation of DNA. A 100-gram serving of cream cheese contains about 15% of the recommended daily intake of phosphorus.
  • Vitamin B12: Cream cheese is a good source of vitamin B12, a nutrient important for brain function, red blood cell formation, and nerve health. A 100 gram serving of cream cheese contains approximately 10% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin B12.

Strawberry Delights

The sweet topping is made with strawberries. Strawberries are not only delicious but also pack a nutritional punch. Here are some of the health benefits of strawberries:

  • High in Vitamin C: Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, with one cup providing over 100% of the recommended daily intake. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage, supports the immune system, and helps the body absorb iron.
  • Antioxidant Properties: Strawberries are rich in various antioxidants, including anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and quercetin. These compounds can help protect against oxidative stress, inflammation, and chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer.
  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Some of the antioxidants in strawberries, such as quercetin, have anti-inflammatory properties. This can help reduce inflammation in the body, which is linked to various chronic diseases.

Enjoy!
